The door is always open at Fannie Martin’s house. And it especially holds true if you are a Lyon County Lady Lyon basketball player.
So, it was no surprise that the team’s police escort stopped at her Eddyville home Tuesday on their way to Richmond for the All-A Classic State Tournament. Her door was open, and the 93-year-old Martin gave some hugs to players and coaches before they left town.
Martin says she is the “biggest Lyon County fan there is” and thinks they will do well in Richmond this week. And if they do, there will be plenty of hugs waiting on them when they return to Eddyville.
