Hopkinsville’s Koby Batts was named the male swimmer of the meet for the Best of the West Invitational Saturday in Bowling Green.
Batts won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 55.30 seconds, over two seconds ahead of Bowling Green’s Will Reynolds.
Batts was also a member of the 200-yard medley relay team that finished fourth.
Jadyn Hicks brought home a first place finish in the 200-yard freestyle in a time 2:00.36 and was second in the 500-yard freestyle.
Spencer Walker took second place in the 50-yard freestyle, just getting edged at the finish by .07 seconds by Logan County’s Joey Higgins.
Preston White finished second in the 100-yard backstroke, and Chase Atkins finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle.
The 200-yard freestyle team of Batts, Walker, Hicks, and White finished third.
For the ladies, the 200-yard medley relay team of Madyson Merrick, Ellie Coburn, Lauren Langhi, and Lauren Montgomery finished third, while the same team of swimmers finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Langhi also won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:16.74 and finished third in the 500-yard freestyle.
Merrick finished second in the 100-yard backstroke and fourth in the 200-yard freestyle.
