Trigg County’s Colin Stevens took second place at the Johnny Drennan Memorial Wrestling Invitational at Father Ryan High School in Nashville Saturday.
Competing in the 160-pound class, Stevens pinned his first four opponents of the day to move in the championship match where he fell 8-4 to unbeaten Dylan Quinn of Mt. Juliet High. The 160-pound class featured a 32-wrestler bracket for Stevens to maneuver through.
Freshman Ethan Futrell won three matches in the 126-pound class with pins before falling to Father Ryan’s Carlyle McAfee 11-3 in the consolation round.
Isaac Aguiar also won three matches by fall in the 132-pound class before bowing out in the consolation round.
Trigg County will wrestle in the small school regionals this weekend at Calloway County.
