When it comes to wins, Todd County Central has been more concerned with quality than quantity. The Lady Rebels have just three wins on the season, but two of those have come in 13th District play. The latest came Friday when Todd County handed Franklin-Simpson a 57-51 setback in Elkton.
Jasmine Mimms got the Lady Rebels off to a quick start, scoring eight of her 12 points in the first quarter as Todd built a 14-10 lead.
Up 21-16 at halftime, Amy Brumfield sparked the Lady Rebel offense in the third quarter. The junior guard didn’t dent the scoresheet in the first half but scored 13 points in the second half to pace the Lady Rebels. Freshman Mikayla Artis added 11 points.
Kate Norwood scored 19 points for Franklin-Simpson (3-15, 0-2).
Todd County Central (3-8) moves to 2-1 in district play, one game behind first place Logan County (3-0). The Lady Rebels host Glasgow tonight.
