Caldwell County Cruises Past Dawson Springs 76-39 (w/PHOTOS)

The Caldwell County Tigers got off the bus shooting Tuesday night at Dawson Springs. The Tigers took the Panthers out of the game early on their way to a 76-39 win.

The Tiger offense was firing on all cylinders early in the contest. Caldwell County, behind the play of Derrin Boyd outscored the Panthers in the opening quarter 27-14 and the rout was on.

The Tigers kept up the pressure in the 2nd quarter. Boyd, who scored 10 points in the first quarter, scored 10 more in the second quarter, as Caldwell County rolled to a 47-21 lead at the half.

The break for halftime did nothing to slow down the Tiger attack Tuesday night. Caldwell County kept on rolling, outscoring Dawson Springs 21-10 in the quarter to extend the lead on out to 68-31, and bring into to play the running clock for the rest of the game.

Derrin Boyd continued his outstanding play, leading the Tigers with 24 points, 20 of those coming in the first half. Cayden Fraliex and John Davis chipped in with 12 points each. Dawson Springs was led by Braxton Cotton with 15.

Caldwell County improved to 6-7, while Dawson Springs dropped to 2-9 on the season.
