A dry stretch late in the first half and another in the second half proved to be the undoing for the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers Friday as they fell to 2nd Region foe Henderson County 57-40 in pool play of the Owensboro Invitational Tournament at the Owensboro Sportscenter. The Lady Tigers went nearly six minutes in the first half without a field goal, and then more than eight minutes in the second half without a field goal. The two dry spells were more than the Lady Tigers could overcome.

Henderson lead 14-8 at the end of the first quarter, and then extended that to 31-20 at the half. Henderson then outscored the Lady Tigers 14-9 in the 3rd quarter to give them a lead they would not relinquish down the stretch.

Hopkinsville was led by Breon Oldham with 11 points. Zakyra Stallworth and Jayla Rose added 10 points each. Henderson County was led by Emilee Hope with 13 points.

Hopkinsville falls to 8-3 with the loss.
