The Christian County Lady Colonels kept their perfect start to the 2017-2018 season intact by upending the Madisonville Lady Maroons Tuesday night. The Lady Colonels opened the game on a 10-0 and never looked back on their way to a 63-43 win.

Madisonville finally got on the board in the first quarter with free throws at the 2:40 mark to make it 10-2. Christian County then went on an 8-0 run, and would end the quarter up 18-4, as Madisonville could only manage one field goal in the first period. Turnovers were a problem for the Lady Maroons, as the high pressure Lady Colonel defense forced 10 first quarter turnovers.

The Christian County defense kept the pressure on during the second quarter limiting the Lady Maroons to only 2 field goals, as the Lady Colonels extended the lead to 33-16. Christian County was led in the first half by Bianna Snorton and Trinity McGee with 8 points apiece.

The third quarter was more of the same, as the Lady Colonels limited Madisonville to seven points. The Lady Maroons only had two field goals, both three pointers, as Christian County pushed the lead out to 54-23.

Both teams then got numerous younger players involved in the 4th quarter. Madisonville’s reserves made a run late in the 4th quarter, but the game had long since been decided, as Christian County improved their record to 4-0 on the season.

Christian County was led on the night by Bianna Snorton with 13 points. Aailiyah Hampton added 12, while Trinty McGee added 11, and Trinitee Jackson had 10.

Madisonville was led by Courtney Peyton with 17 and Camryn LaGrange with 15. The Lady Maroons fall to 1-2 on the season.

Christian County will return to action Friday night on the road at Bullitt East.
