The Trigg County Lady Wildcats came away with a split of the games they played during the Whitesville Trinity Shootout Saturday. Trigg handily defeated Frederick Fraize in the opener 62-48, before falling to Whitesville Trinity in a battle in their second game of the event, 51-43.
In the first contest, Trigg County actually trailed 31-28 at the half. The Lady Wildcats then came out strong defensively in the second half, holding Fraize to 8 points in the 3rd quarter and 9 in the 4th quarter. Meanwhile, the Lady Wildcats put up 16 in the 3rd and 18 in the 4th.
Trigg County was led by Adri Phillips with 18 points. Lauren Oliver added 17, while Katelyn Stone was the other Lady Wildcat in double figures with 11.
In Trigg County’s second game of the shootout, it was essentially the reverse of the first game of the day. This time, Trigg County was in the lead at the half, 25-23. However, Whitesville Trinity then outscored Trigg County in the second half 28-18 to get the 8 point win.
Lauren Oliver was the only Lady Wildcat to reach double figures in the game with 16 points. Bethany Stallons and Rylee Bush added 8 points apiece.
Trigg County now stands at 2-2 on the season, and will go on the road Tuesday night to take on UHA.
