The Hoptown Hoppers have finalized their schedule for the 2018 Ohio Valley League baseball season, which includes hosting the annual all-star game.
The Hoppers will play their home games at Christian County’s Colonel Field, continuing their rotation with Hopkinsville High. Weekday home games for the Hoppers will start at 7pm with Sunday home games to start at 6pm.
That will be the case across the OVL with the exception of Paducah, who will play their weekday home games at 6:30, and Muhlenberg County, who will play their Sunday home games at 7pm.
The Hoppers open the 2018 season Thursday, May 31 at home against Fulton, followed by a two-game series with Madisonville. The OVL has apparently scrapped the schedule format of playing opponents in home-and-home series in consecutive days, which was a feature of the 2017 schedule. However, the league will continue to use Mondays as make-up days throughout the season.
Among the notable dates on the Hoppers’ schedule are:
• Thursday, May 31 (Opening Day) – home vs. Fulton
• Sunday, June 17 (Father’s Day) – at DuBois County
• Thursday, June 28 – First home game with division rival Paducah
• Sunday, July 1 – OVL All-Star Game at Hopkinsville
• Wednesday, July 4 – home game with Muhlenberg County
• Friday, July 20 – First round of playoffs begins
Season tickets are now on sale at Charlie Henderson State Farm Insurance in Hopkinsville and the Kentucky New Era offices. Season tickets go for $90 and include all 21 regular season home games, the Ohio Valley League All-Star Game, and all postseason home games.
The Hoppers are also selling two season tickets for $170, four season tickets for $320, and six season tickets for $450.
