
The team that ended the season for the Trigg County Wildcats and the Caldwell County Tigers saw their season end Friday night on their home field. The Elizabethtown Panthers lost for the third year in a row in the Class 3A semifinals, fallinc 14-7 to Boyle County.
The game was scoreless going into the 4th quarter. Boyle County finally broke through on a touchdown pass with 9:02 to go. E-town came right back to tie the game on a 25-yard touchdown pass with 7:12 left in the contest. However, a Panther turnover at their own 18-yard line less than three minutes later set Boyle County up for the go ahead score with 2:26 left in the game.
Elizabethtown finished the season at 12-2. The Panthers defeated Trigg County 47-6 in the opening round of the Class 3A playoffs. Two weeks later, the Panthers eliminated Caldwell County 52-6 in the regional final.
