Heritage Christian Academy returns a solid nucleus of players for the 2017-18 girls’ basketball season as the Lady Warriors try and reach the KCAA Final Four for the third straight season.

Junior Chelsea Dortch, who was named to the all-tournament teams in both the KCAA State Tournament and JV State Tournament, returns for a Lady Warrior squad that was the region’s number one seed but was upset by Bethel in the first round. Despite the upset loss, HCA rebounded to win two games in the state tournament as a 10-seed.

Rachel West and Hope Flournoy are the lone seniors on the Lady Warrior squad and will be expected to pick up a bulk of the scoring load. West can play both guard and forward and gives HCA some options at both positions.

Sophomore Meredith Crunk and eighth grader Kaitlyn Kaetzel will share time at point guard, while Kinley Deason, Ashton Craft, and Logan Gibson also return, while Abbi Bullock and Kayley Wadlington join the team from the soccer squad and should provide much needed depth.

Once the Lady Warriors arrive at a consistent rotation and learn roles, they could make another run at a final four appearance at the state tournament.
