Christian County golf coach Adam Ragsdale joked that he remembered John Buchanan as a pudgy middle schooler who could barely walk nine holes. On Friday, Buchanan walked into the CCHS media room and signed his letter to play college golf at Murray State University, finishing a transformation years in the making.
Buchanan finished second at the Region 2 tournament this year and won invitationals at Meade County and McCracken County. He finished 35th at the state tournament.
Buchanan was also named to the Region 2 Golf Team as a senior. Also signing with Murray State Friday was Buchanan’s teammate Carson Holmes. They will join former Hopkinsville High golfer Austin Knight on the Racer golf roster.
