When Caldwell County senior Shane Burns committed to play baseball at Murray State University in late spring, he soon announced thereafter that he was bypassing his senior season in football to concentrate on baseball. This after a junior season that saw him throw for over 3,000 yards and 37 touchdowns.
As far as the concentration on baseball part? Burns, through the help of a Cross-Fit program, has dropped 25 pounds from his frame and says he feels as good as ever in throwing a baseball. Burns signed his letter to play for the Racers on Wednesday.
