In 2016 the Lyon County girls’ soccer team struggled, but got hot down the stretch and pulled off a surprising run to the 5th District championship. The Lady Lyons found their stride late in the season again in 2017, but fell to Trigg County in this year’s district championship. They finished 7-13-2, while scoring 43 goals and allowing 91. The last time the Lady Lyons posted a winning record was 2007. Their season ended with a 12-0 loss to Henderson County in the first round of the 2nd Region tournament.
The Lady Lyons only lose 4 seniors, and return many of their influential players, including freshmen Destiny Dycus and Sydney Hoffman, and juniors Mia Myers, Alexis Pinnegar, and goalkeeper Sabrina Gates.
