Christian County golf teammates Carson Holmes and John Buchanan were usually inseparable at the top of the leaderboard during their senior season. It’s only appropriate the duo chose to attempt to repeat their success at the college level when both golfers committed to play at Murray State University Tuesday.
Holmes was the Region 2 individual champion as a junior and just missed qualifying for this year’s state tourney by one shot.
Buchanan finished second at the Region 2 tournament this year and won invitationals at Meade County and McCracken County. He finished 35th at the state tournament.
Both Holmes and Buchanan were named to the Region 2 Golf Team as seniors. They will join former Hopkinsville High golfer Austin Knight on the Racer golf roster.
Holmes took to Twitter to announce his college choice Tuesday afternoon.
Buchanan followed with his announcement a few hours later.
