The Christian County boys’ soccer team ended 2017 on a 4-game losing streak, dropping them to 5-14-3 on the year, their third consecutive losing season. The Colonels scored 39 goals and allowed 99, with their season ending with a 10-0 mercy rule loss to Hopkinsville in the first round of the 8th District tournament. The Colonels have failed to win a post-season game since a 2014 district championship and run to the 2nd Region championship game.
The Colonels graduate 7 seniors, including second-leading scorer and assist leader Luis Macario (8 goals, 6 assists). However, they return a strong nucleus with junior leading scorer Ben Settle (9 goals), 3rd leading scorer Luke Ferrell (7 goals), and sophomore goalkeeper McKay Dunn, who notched 3 shutouts in 2017.
