Trigg County cross country coach Ken Harrison is recovering in a Lexington Hospital following heart surgery Monday. Harrison fell ill Friday on the eve of the State Cross Country Meet in Lexington. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital where it was determined he had suffered a heart attack. Assistant coach Trent Ricks coached the team on Saturday, and Trigg assistant football coach Tim Bush, whose daughter Rylee runs on the varsity team, drove the team bus back to Cadiz Saturday night.
Harrison underwent quintuple bypass surgery on Monday and was resting comfortably Monday night. Harrison, who formerly coached at Graves County, is in his first year as Trigg County cross country coach and helped guide the Lady Wildcats to the Region I title.
