MSU Draws Tennessee in Women’s NCAA Soccer Tournament

The Murray State women’s soccer team will play Tennessee in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Saturday, in Knoxville. Now in his fourth year, Jeremy Groves has led the Racers to three straight OVC regular season titles, two OVC tournament titles and now the second NCAA appearance under his guidance.

This marks the second time the Racers have faced Tennessee in the 18 seasons of soccer at Murray State, as the Volunteers came away with a 3-0 win in Knoxville, on September 6, 2015. Murray State enters the tournament riding a six-game winning streak and is 15-1-2 overall while Tennessee enters the tournament with an overall record of 14-4-1.

The Racers have been to the NCAA Tournament twice before,losing both games in the first round to Virginia Tech 2-0 in 2009 and Ole Miss 1-0 in 2015.
