The Fort Campbell boys’ soccer team struggled to a 4-9-1 record in 2017, scoring 40 goals and conceding 60. After advancing to the 2016 8th District championship game, the Falcons fell in the first round to UHA this season. It was the first time they missed the 2nd Region tournament since 2014.
The Falcons only graduate 4 players, but one is James Manning, the Falcons’ leading scorer and one of the more electric players in the region. While Manning’s 12 goals led the Falcons, they do return their second leading scorer, freshman speedster Kenyon Ward, along with the other 12 underclassmen on the 2017 roster. That youth will need to be ready to step up next season if the Falcons are going to make noise in the district and return to the regional tournament.
