Under head coach Jeff Addison, the Hopkinsville girls’ soccer team has grown used to winning district titles and competing for regional titles, but the 2017 season was difficult for the Lady Tigers. The Lady Tigers lost to UHA in the district championship this season, the second year without the title after winning 9 straight. They endured a 9- game winless streak in the middle of the season and ended up with a 6-12-1 record, scoring 48 goals and allowing 79. Their season ended with a 1-0 loss to Caldwell County in the first round of the 2nd Region tournament.
Hopkinsville only graduates 3 seniors, but leading goal-scorer Avery O’Hara and defensive standout Libby Steil will be difficult to replace. Sophomore forward Keeli Miles returns and will combine with the other young talent to try to get the Lady Tigers back to the lofty heights of a few seasons ago.
