The Heritage Christian Lady Warriors picked up a straight set win in their final match before this weekend’s state volleyball tournament. HCA defeated Oak Ridge Christian Academy, of Morgantown, 25-11 and 25-16.
HCA opened a bit off kilter in the match, dropping the first three points of the match. The Lady Warriors quickly got things back on track taking a 7-3 lead and then cruising through the rest of the first set. In the second set, the Heritage jumped out to an early lead, affording Coach Eldridge Rogers the chance to get several players some key minutes through the remainder of the match.
The Lady Warriors had big nights from Rachel West and Skyler Crisp, who were strong attacking the net in the match.
Heritage Christian next heads off to the state tournament, which will be played this weekend at Asbury College. The Lady Warriors open play against Somerset Christian School Friday evening. Somersets has two wins over the Lady Warriors during the 2017 season.
