One thing we know going into the 7th District girls soccer tournament is that the Caldwell County Lady Tigers will play for the championship on Thursday night. Who their opponent will be is set to be determined Monday evening. Madisonville would seem to be the favorite against Hopkins Central, but the game still has to be played on the pitch.
The Lady Storm comes into the tournament with a solid 11-5-2 record, but lost regular season matchups to both Madisonville and Caldwell County. The Lady Tigers easily got past the Lady Storm back on September 14th by a score of 8-0. Madisonville also knocked off Central back on August 24th 5-1.
Most expect Caldwell County and Madisonville to meet in the final. The Lady Tigers won the regular season meeting 1-0 in a hard fought battle in Princeton.
The tournament gets underway Monday evening at 5:30pm when Hopkins Central takes on Madisonville. The winner will move on to the championship contest against Caldwell County Thursday evening at 5:30. The tournament is being played at Hopkins Central.
