Emma Talley is playing in the biggest golf tournament of her professional career this weekend in Daytona Beach, Florida at the Symetra Tour Championship. The Princeton golfer currently sits in tenth place on the Symetra Tour money list. The top ten finishers after this weekend’s season-ending event secure their LPGA Tour card for 2018.
Talley has slipped from seventh to tenth on the money list in the past three weeks and is $7,639 ahead of 11th place Daniela Darquea. Talley saw her position fall thanks to the rise of former All-SEC golfer Katelyn Dambaugh from South Carolina, who has jumped into the top 10 after just 11 events.
For Talley, she needs to play well this weekend and hope that no one below her wins the tournament, which features a $30,000 prize for first place.
This weekend’s event is a four-day tournament at the LPGA International, Jones Course. To date, Talley has won $61,800 this season and $97,586 for her career.
