After dropping the first set, the Caldwell County Lady Tigers came back strong Thursday night to defeat Madisonville in a big 7th District volleyball battle at the CAB. Madisonville opened the evening playing very well and taking the first set 25-23.
Behind some strong net play from Carly Peek and Abby Griggs, Caldwell County came back to win the next three sets 25-17, 25-22, and 25-20. The Lady Tigers also had strong play from Taylor Whalen and Olivia Mitchell to help lead Caldwell County to the win.
Caldwell County clinched the 7th District top seed for the district tournament and clinched a spot in the 2nd Region tournament. The Lady Tigers improved their record to 14-6 on the season.
