PHOTOS – Colonels Respond To Tough Weekend With 5-0 Win Over Caldwell

After struggling on the field and dealing with some injuries over the weekend, the Christian County Colonels rebounded with a 5-0 win over the Caldwell County Tigers Tuesday night at Butler Stadium. The Colonels had not scored a goal in their last four contests, three of those coming over the weekend in the Boots and Butts Soccer Classic. Caldwell County was dealing with some offensive struggles of its own, coming off an 8-0 shutout loss to Calloway County.

Christian County seized the momentum early and never gave it up. Ben Settle got the Colonels on the board at the 6:50 mark with the first of his two goals on the night. The Colonels then extended the lead when Luke Ferrell scored the first of his two goals. Christian County extended the lead to 3-0 on at goal at the 37:00 mark by Luis Macario.

Christian County kept the pressure on the Tigers in the second half, as Settle scored for the second time in the game at the 41:00 mark. Ferrell completed the scoring for Christian County, with a goal at the 78:00 mark.

The Colonels improved to 3-6-3 on the season, and prepare to host Henderson County Thursday. Caldwell County falls to 3-4-1, and will return to action Thursday at Lyon County.
