Lady Wildcats Beat Lyon County 6-1

Trigg County took another step closer to clinching the top seed in the Fifth District Girls’ Soccer Tournament with a 6-1 win over Lyon County Monday in Cadiz.

Emily Noffsinger and Alyssa Richardson each had two goals in the contest. Noffsinger’s first goal came from 25 yards out in the first five minutes of the contest.

Trigg County scored two goals in a six-minute stretch to grab a 3-0 lead. Libby Redd banged home a pass from Madisen Ireland followed by a Richardson goal off another assist from Ireland.

Noffsinger’s second goal came seven minutes before halftime and gave the Lady Wildcats a 4-0 lead at intermission.
Neither team scored again until 18 minutes into the second half when Lyon’s Destiny Dycus took a pass from Mia Myers and found the top of the net.

Trigg put the game away on goals from Richardson and Ireland inside the final seven minutes.

Julia Rhone had four saves in goal for the Lady Wildcats, who improved to 5-3-1 with their fifth win in six matches.

Lyon County dropped to 2-8 with the loss and will travel to Mayfield Tuesday.

Trigg County will host Christian County Tuesday.
