
The UHA Lady Blazers suffered their first loss of the season Thursday night as they were upended by the #19 Bowling Green Lady Purples 9-2. Bowling Green scored four goals in the first 22 minutes of the contest and would eventually extend the lead to 5-0 at the break.
The Lady Purples would extend the lead to 6-0 in the second half, before UHA got on the board on a goal by Lilly Strader to cut the margin to 6-1. Bowling Green extended the lead to 8-1 before Avery Daniel scored the final goal of the night for UHA. The Lady Purples would add one more to close out the scoring. Freshman Whitaker Buchanan scored six goals for the Lady Purples, who entered the game ranked 14th in the state.
In addition to her goal, Strader had an assist on the goal by Daniel. Goalie Lainey Burman had two saves on the night.
With the loss, UHA falls to 5-1 on the season.
In the JV contest, UHA picked up a 3-1 win, with goals by Grace Pape, Kate Cansler, and Avery Daniel.
