UHA junior Muki Kunnmann opened her 2017 cross country season with a 12th place finish Saturday at the Warren East Twilight Invitational in Bowling Green. Kunnmann, last year’s Region I winner, covered the 3.1-mile course in a time of 20:47. Siegel, TN’s Marilyn McCarthy won the race in 19:29.
Eighth grader Piper Hancock was UHA’s only other female to run in the event, finishing 44th in a time of 23:41.
Freshman Tomas Duncan finished 19th in the boys’ varsity race in a time of 17:42. South Warren junior Luke Spurrier, who transferred to the school from Oklahoma, won the race in 16:04.
In the boys’ middle school race, Lucas Shouse finished 22nd in a time of 12:25 over the 3,000-meter course. Chase Hendricks finished 30th in 12:32, and Trey Wyatt was 90th (15:28).
