The Christian County Colonels slowed down a high powered Caldwell County Tiger offense and got the 27-10 win Friday night in Princeton. The Colonels limited the Tiger passing offense to only one score, while using some big plays to make the difference in the contest.

Christian County broke the ice late in the 1st quarter when Kolbe Langhi went in from the one yard line to put the Colonels up 7-0. Caldwell County responded in the second quarter, when new quarterback Joby Jaggers hit Jameer Riley to tie things up at 7-7.

Langhi came back for the Colonels, and hit from 25-yards out to put the Colonels in front 14-7, which is where the score remained until halftime.

Late in the third quarter, Caldwell County fumbled the ball, with Christian County returning it for a touchdown to take a 21-7 lead. A field goal with just over 9 minutes to go in the contest appeared to have Caldwell County making a move to get back in the game. However, on the ensuing kickoff, Cory Trice took it all the way to the house, effectively sealing the 27-10 win.

With the loss the Tigers fall to 0-1 on the season, while the Colonels start things off at 1-0. Caldwell County will host Graves County next week, while Christian County takes on Rossview in the Jerry Claiborne Bowl.
