The Christian County girls’ soccer team (0-1) opened 2017 by welcoming the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons (2-0), but came out on the wrong end of a 6-0 score. The Lady Maroons led 4-0 at half, and junior forward Keely Ashby led the way with 2 goals. All four goals came within a 10 minute span from 10:06 of the first half to 19:44 of the first half.
The Lady Colonels lost 1-0 to Madisonville in 2016, the first time the schools had played since 2008. Christian County has not beaten Madisonville since the KHSAA began compiling scores online in 2000. The Lady Colonels next host Owensboro (1-1) this Saturday.
